Thanks for giving your details, it will help others. I would imagine your bags will be moving again around late morning UK time on Monday, and hopefully put on a SFO service. Baggage outages only tend to get into the media if it's a slow news day and the number of bags stuck is significant. Though this was not a trivial incident, it wasn't a big outage either. Even on the day most bags were delivered that day.
