The Table Bay Hotel, a notable landmark in Cape Town, is temporarily close from February 2025 for a R1 billion (€51.3 million) refurbishment.
Upon reopening, it will be known as the
InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town, marking the debut of the InterContinental brand in the city.
The renovation aims to elevate the hotel's luxury offerings while preserving its premier status at the V&A Waterfront.
Key enhancements include:
- Expansion from 261 to 306 rooms, including 45 new suites
- Enhanced outdoor spaces with panoramic views of the harbour and mountains
- Exclusive areas for premium guests under the InterContinental brand
- A new wellness facility to complement the hotel's luxury services
- Modernised interiors to improve the guest experience
Operated by Sun International since its opening in 1997, the hotel has been a cornerstone of Cape Town's hospitality sector.
Operations are anticipated to resume later this year.
