So I guess I would consider staying at Tru or Home2Suites if the comparative price was low enough to justify the half points. At half a penny a point, I suppose I could do the math and figure out what that sweet spot would be.

since I haven’t found an instance where Tru had any significant savings vs Hampton Inn, I haven’t had to do that math.
