I'm sure I read somewhere that there is a spare parts shortage on A380s worldwide. Probably not surprising as pre-covid most airlines were looking to stop flying A380s completely, and its the increased demand since covid that has resulted in a re-evaluation.

Having said that, there does seem to be far more A380 issues with BA than (say) Emirates. Whether that is because Emirtaes have a much bigger fleet of A380s still flying, and therefore better flexibility if one goes tech, I don't know.
