I’ve found it very rare for the senior rate to be the same as the member flexible rate - it’s usually been at least as low as the member pre-paid rate (while retaining better cancellation rules), and often much better. Count me disappointed - but glad I have AAA too. I hope this is just some temporary glitch - or a trial that fails and gets abandoned.

You are both seeing what I am talking about. We do a lot of road tripping, so stay at a majority of lower tier Bonvoy properties along Interstates and other highways rather than downtown full-service or international hotels. As recently as May I saw the rate differences you describe, the application of the Senior rate usually showing only slightly higher than prepaid with flexibility no worse than the Standard/Member rate. My next stay at an unassuming TownePlace has the Senior and Flexible rates the same, with only the AAA/CAA rate showing the small discount. (Fortunately, like Retiredlife, I can use it.) With two pages of reservations in my account between now and Spring 2026 the pattern is fairly clear. I'm not suggesting the discounts are gone entirely but are frequently less, harder to find and not as flexible.
