Unless you're bringing in large quantities of controlled prescription drugs, I doubt you'll have issues -- there are screenings at the airport but are typically fairly lax towards foreigners.

The only English info I've found is from the Egyptian consulate in Sydney which was uploaded ~1 year ago:

Thanks; I just ended up hiring a guide since I brought my family (on my own I never do), though yes there were a lot of controlled substances LOL the standard hire-a-guide-to-bypass-bureaucracy (and baksheesh) worked well enough so no challanges. I appreciate the reply and info.
