You can drive, even be visiting/moving into college, yet still unable to fly on AA without a gate escort or extra fee (according to AA.com). Idk what sheltered lives AA children live, but at least UA/DL don't require that for 15-17.
No, the fee is optional for 15-17, unless one opts for the UAM service.
