In Europe we have national identity cards and passports. As passports have value on the black market we usually take our IDs and lock the passport in a hotel safe deposit box. .... Well..That doesnt work in the USA even to get into a bar even though it is printed in english "official ID card" They automatically assume it is fake as it has a foreign language on it. It used to be in parts of the US that when presenting a passport you would get a blank look and they wouldnt even know what it was. That has improved greatly over the past 15 years at least.....
