Architects OTCPD already sketched out on behalf of HKIA what this could look like a long time ago: https://www.otcpd.com/projects/airpo...-modifications

And you can imagine the twin levels. Potentially one for first class and the lower section for part of the expanded Bridge plus..:
*the empty space behind the Bridge reception: flooring and support structure is planned to be added to backfill and add space there
*I expect quite a few, if not all the lounges in the upper sections where Thai, EK, Plaza and Chase are now might be kicked out to explain more of the Business and a new First lounge to ensure whatever is lost from The Pier is not just covered at an expanded Bridge but also needs to be much bigger in a 3RS context for greater capacity

That’s why The Wing is expanding to essentially the end of gate 4. Not an easy job
Interesting, that's going to be huge if it happens - looks also like a very expensive project if it happens. Expanding the structural footprint of the terminal just to expand the lounge? I mean, if all these airlines are moving out of T1, there must be cheaper ways to expand CX lounge space?
