The direct UK-India aviattion market is underserved. It's capacity constrained by bilateral agreements that limit UK carriers to what Indian carriers can match. Indian carriers (AI and 6E) have huge aircraft orders and will expand services as soon as they can. They want to take back the business that middle east carriers have picked up. Increased Indian services should then allow UK carriers to increase their services, it's a huge growing market. NB India is BA's second biggest foreign market (after the US).
Very good points. BA is definitely not pricing business Canada to India as aggressively as they used. Not so long ago J to Delhi on BA could be had for a few hundred dollars more than LHR ex YYZ. But that still I think also goes to explain the gradual downsizing of LHR-YYZ. It is still a heavy connecting route. I have checked in online LHR-YYZ right on the 24 hour mark and seen sequence numbers as high as in the 160's
