I’m really checking for the delayed return (BA54 on July 8th) but that’s just a knock on of ex LHR.
The crew mentioned operational reasons.
The flight was operated by G-XLEI which landed into LHR on the 7th from LAX on-time, so I would hazard a guess something technical or a last minute crew sickness resulted in them going out of hours before the issue could be rectified, hence the delay overnight. The same aircraft did operate the delayed service FYI.
Operational issues seems like it would be okay to claim UK261.
