In reading all of the posts from the OP or others that advocate the right to face your accuser in court, if you did so, what exactly is it that you would contend mitigates the speed at which you were driving and entitles you to special treatment?
Would you contend that you deserve an exception because you disagree the speed limit set is too low?
Would you argue that an average driver could not possibly avoid the excess speed due to the short notice to adjust speed?
Would you argue that this is a law to which you are unaccustomed therefore deserve an exception?
Would you argue that only a person with a camera and using their best judgement on the need to enforce a stated law is required and that allowing a robot (i.e. camera) to zing you is just not cricket?
Something else?
Given that laws apply to everyone equally, given that the vast majority of drivers somehow manage to adjust their speed sufficiently so as not to get a ticket, given that ignorance of the law is not an excuse (Ignorantia juris non excusat is a well-established legal principle in the US), and that automation for data collection is indeed the wave of the future, what exactly is the argument one might make in court so as to have this fine waived?
