Two points:
1) Regardless of your personal view of whether something is 'just' or not, you need to accept that it is the law, and that if you choose to break it wilfully or through carelessness, there may be consequences. There are plenty of laws in other countries which I think range from the stupid to the downright offensive, but if I visit those places, I have to accept that those are the laws of the land.
2) If you are offered a fixed penalty notice (a speeding ticket), you can choose not to accept and pay it (it is offered as an alternative to prosecution), and instead to exercise your right to trial. Always your choice.
That's not quite how it works. If a law is deemed unjust or unreasonable then it can be repealed if successfully challenged. I guess speeding laws don't fall into that category, I wish they did.
Unfortunately Brits are too docile to challenge speed cameras.
