Interesting. Seems like they have been slowly nerfing this card. First they removed the 1% e-money bonus, then they increased the fee, and now they have reduced the max purchase amount to dramatically raise the fee as a % of purchase. I can only presume that the virtual visa gc's make them more money.

I've started buying the virtual Visa version anyway to save the dollar per card but would have considered an egift version everyone now and then for ApplePay purposes. I can't imagine anyone is paying $6.95 for a $100 egift card (just like I can't imagine anyone is paying $5.95 for a $75 GoC gift card, but I digress).

I feel like it is just a matter of time before this whole scheme of buying cash-equivalent gc's to earn miles gets watered down to the point it isn't worth pursuing. I am hanging in at 2x, but just barely.
