I've just dropped to Silver this year and on my travel pattern I am struggling to see the point of it. I can go to the lounge in JER with Priority Pass, so the residual benefit of Silver becomes 6 trips to GC a year. And if I want those I can just upgrade the relevant legs to CE for about £70 and forget about chasing status which costs much more.
THIS is exactly what is driving the change, additional revenue!!
Glad to see I am not the only one that thinks buying CE rather than chasing Silver is an option!!
