The retrofit is for the older jets which won't be upgraded with the new flatbed regional business class seats in 2026. And it indicates the retrofitted planes will be flying for quite some years to come, especially the 777s (which won't be getting the new flatbed regional; business class at all).
All 777-300 non-ERs and 12 of the A330s built between 2001-2005 will be getting refreshed business class recliners, whereas 20 of the A330s built between 2011-2015 will be getting new flatbed business class and new economy seats.
The first retrofitted A330ceo will enter service by Q4 2026.
