Edit: Regarding BA flights to Detroit, I remember that there was a stop in Montreal rather than Boston in the early to mid 90s. Pan Am also did that route direct from Gatwick, and Delta took it over following Pan Am's demise, although it didn't last long.
Also the DTW flight for awhile was a tag on from YYZ. So a very short flight
