Their published policy states they assign them next to the adult and this was not done when seats were assigned during online check-in which is my complaint and they pushed me to wait until the airport in which there'd be fewer options due to others having been assigned seats as they did their check-in.
It would have been fixed at the airport - the lesser number of seat options would not have been an issue
In the statement poted from its site , it does not state that it will be ensured when online checkin has opened
"We do our best to seat families together when we allocate seating and we’ll make sure that young children are seated with a parent or guardian" has 2 parts to it
One that it will try to allocate seats automatically together and
Two that it will make sure that young children are seated with a parent or guardian
(ok it is flawed in that it should cover 'carer' along with parent or guardian)
It doesn't guarantee automatic allocation , but it would have been fixed at the airport. If you wanted to be able to choose seats in advance, then JQ offers seat allocation at a fee
