Cash rates are very different ($500 vs $1000 ish a night) but points rates are similar (330k for 4-5 nights at Westin vs 300k and $1,000 at Mauna Kea). Trip was going to be 4 nights but am trying to stretch it to 5, if this doesn't work out will pay cash. Renovated room at Mauna Kea looks much nicer than Westin. Thanks!
Stayed at the MK last November during renovation of the Main tower wing had had a great stay. Fewer people, less crowded beach minimal noise, etc. Loved it.
Can't comment on the reverse now that it's Beach wing under renovation but I'd mention this. If you have kids, the Westin pools are a better fit as families seem to like the set up there.
If its just a couple, and not in need of pools for kids, the MK might be better.
Can't go wrong with either
