Well, if you're ok with let's say a 30% chance that you book everything, fly the miles, then you don't get the 1M sure go ahead. I wouldn't do it.

I am not buying an Australia ticket (x2) speculatively fly to Australia for this promo. I am/was hoping to do so in a month or so, when I have a better idea of when exactly I can do it. Similarly I am not doing this for South America either. The other ones not as bad, as they are naturally what I was going to do anyway. But I would purchase North America next month, not now, and I am not going to drop thousands of dollars unless they get straight and say what they mean with no double speak.
This can become one of the biggest failures of an airline in terms of trust between an airline and its customers unless TK gets very clear very quickly. I dare say that as TK is THE "Turkish brand" they need to really fix this quickly.
Knowing Turkey, my guess is that some TK manager said , "We'll get another 1000 bookings to Australia out of this campaign" and that probably over the last 10 days they have had 2000 bookings, rather than bask in this success, someone said, "But that is a BILLION more miles than we counted on!", but forgetting that TK miles expire and TK controls all the avails.
I agree, and now my willingness to fly TK in general has strongly decreased.
