So I've used and owned the Bose Quietcomfort Over the ear, on the ear, and the earbuds (wired ones). I've also had Air Pods Pro and now own the Pro 2.

NONE of the above has done well (IMO) for screaming/crying babies or loud talkers.
Since I see lots of comments on FT and Reddit regarding the babies and talkers ("Just use noise cancelling headphones"), I'm curious as to what you all use that actually prevents/stops those sounds from coming through.

Yes, they do "mute" a *little* (for example, my Air Pods Pro 2 didn't do much against the loud talker that was one row up from me--and I was also watching/listening to a movie on my iPad at the time as well--had to crank the volume up to about 80 to finally drown him out).

I'd prefer earbuds. The over/on the ear (my ears stick out a bit like dumbo) become VERY uncomfortable after about 30-45 minutes.
I could've sworn I'd read an article on CNET last year (?) that had a set (not Apple, but I can't remember which) that they said worked really well (although that's always subjective, IMO). Not sure if there's any actual real-world testing that's objective (you can't really stick a decibel meter in your ear and anything in a lab doesn't really take into account the actual ear canal type portion for earbuds).

Thanks!
