Definitely not.
It seems like the system worked out ok in that it auto-rebooked you to Southern California without needing to get involved of the bat.
Not ideal to spend $93 out of pocket, but perhaps you’ll get some miles to offset the cost if they don’t cut you a check as reimbursement. I may have missed it, but what triggered the cancellation? That may or may not help your cause.
Load factors are pretty high so it isn’t surprising if they weren’t able to find space to SNA that day as that would require two flights having space (other than the the daily JFK flight, which doesn’t have many seats given the 321T).
