Vanishing Rental Record, No Charge
A strange experience. I rented a car in Albuquerque. When I picked it up, the paperwork said Dollar. I asked the exit employee and he said all was well, since Hertz owns Dollar and they mix cars sometimes.
Well, I return the car 9 days ago. No email receipt arrived when I picked up the car, or when I returned it. The rental doesn’t show in my rental history. My credit card has not been charged. I called Hertz customer service and he could find the confirmation number and said it might take a week for the rental to show. Still hasn’t.
Given Hertz’s occasional practice of going after renters, I’m wondering if I should keep after Hertz for details. Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so what happened?
