Well I complained and here is what I got.

We don’t underestimate how important food and drink is to your enjoyment of the flight, so we’re disappointed we didn’t meet our usual standards this time. We review our food and drink menus frequently and use feedback like yours to guide us as we do. I’ve shared your comments with my colleagues in the Catering team to help us improve our food and drink quality further.

We value your loyalty as a Gold member of the British Airways Club, and know this experience did not meet our usual standards. I’ve added 10,000 Avios to your Club account, and hope this goes some way towards making up for what happened.

I do find it hilarious as this standard of food is now the 'usual standard' by CityFlyer standards, yet by Customer Relation's own admission it wasn't good enough so here, have some more free Avios! Anyway, while I tend to be cynical about these things the more complaints there are, the more likely that they might decide to improve the catering.
