It's entirely possible, if you have 40k LP since March 1 then you're most likely ahead of other Gold's who may have only earned 40k LP over the entire last year. Also the fact that you're on a BE fare doesn't matter, all that matters is your running 12-month LP count.
ETA: Also, especially on a DFW leisure route on a very off-peak Saturday, there could have been a number of AA employees in that 12 people below you on the list.
