"Speeding" ticket in a rental car in the UK

Europcar has informed me that a Bath, UK police camera clocked me at 27 mph in a 20 zone. It doesn't say what the fine is, but Europcar is forwarding my information to the police and charging me a 45 pound fee for doing so. They say the Bath police may or may not contact me,

Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? Any advice? I'm always amazed that Europeans put up with this, as it's basically impossible to avoid speed camera tickets if you drive in places that you are unfamilar with. I may set the record for the lowest speed limit ticket received by an American this year.
