free seat. Selection? Well I’d agree this is the one and only major difference between silver, gold and … and platinum.
yes, you forgo Doha meet and greet, which nobody I know ever used, and if your lugging your life on your back you lose suitcases… but for the average joe soap , silver is the sweet spot, I’m currently platinum, for the first time in 3 years, but I won’t ever chase it again.
QR Silver will not get you lounge access if you are travelling on other OW carriers than QR.

depending how often you fly other OW carriers then Gold may be a better option
