British Airways did not offer hotel - will they refund?
On flight LHR - KRK, July 6th 2025, they kept us on the plane for 8 hours, at LHR airport. The plane was supposed to depart 8:55 AM, they finally let us out of the plane between 5 and 6 pm, or actually evacuated. They said that the plane was broken, but they will replace a part and we should be good to go soon. The AC stopped running after few hours, people were vomiting, but they still kept us captured there like prisoners. When we finally got back to the airport, and got our luggage back, there was NO information on what to do next. They booked us for another flight, 2 days later. They did not provide hotel - staff at the airport said we will receive email with hotel info - which we never did. We contacted online support - they said we cannot help you with anything you have to find hotel on your own, and try to make a claim for the hotel later which might not be fully refunded. Now we are stuck at Heathrow Airport in a hotel for 2 night which we even don't know we will get refunded for.
Did anyone had this situation with BA that they did not give you a hotel for canceled flight, but they fully refunded you? And also about the fact that they kept us in the plane for 8 hours - what are our rights in this situation?
