Jetstar's fake family seating policy

I had the experience of flying on Jetstar ( Australia) this week me and my 7 year old were on the same itinerary. I checked in at 48 hrs prior and both times were assigned seats not next to each other. Both times during check-in, more than half the narrow body unassigned. I tried chatting online and met w resistance. I linked them to their policy and highlited the text on the page. Refused. Told it will be resolved at the airport. I push back, rep finally obliges. Second time both of us got window seats. I chat once more. This reps attitude was much worse than the prior one. Jetstars fake family seating policy

Second time both of us got window seats in the same row. I chat once more. This rep's attitude was much worse than the prior one. Repeatedly denied. Claims it'd be resolved by family seating airport staff would resolve this. Yea right no way there's a dedicated person dealing w these issues. After much pushback w me repeating their policy. He relented. Jetstars fake family seating policy

We do our best to seat families together when we allocate seating and we’ll make sure that young children are seated with a parent or guardian, but we can’t guarantee you’ll be all together.
