I wouldn't use them to book a United ticket in the absence of a substantial discount or coupon like the OP received, but I strongly prefer dealing with them instead of almost all Chinese airlines (Spring is an exception that comes to mind) and many others that have horrible customer support (e.g. BR, CI, PR).
