But if you're far back in the cabin and others haven't preordered its possible one of the options has evaporated by the time the FAs get to you.
I was at a funeral with a flight attendant relative today and while we were chatting during the reception following and they were lamenting both the number of 1Ks in total and the number that don't preorder "and it's like, sorry you can't have your first choice but the 10 1Ks and GS in front of you that also didn't preorder have already taken all of that one that they gave us"
I can see how that happens although I don't think it was did in the times I got only two choices, since I was sitting in the first or second row and didn't see the missing option served to anyone ahead of me. Maybe I was unlucky with crew not knowing the options, as they seemed not very experienced.
