I think there is something to that. I had husbands (p2) card in my KrogerPay and the self check told the cashier to verify my ID matched the card after she keyed in my license. Next time a week later I tried and it asked for the license the checker entered it in and it worked, 3rd time I tried the checker entered my license and it said "denied" (it wasn't self check so I couldn't see the screen myself). I had a suspicion maybe he entered it in wrong but I didn't want to have him do it again because there was a line behind me and I felt awkward enough.
