Holiday Inn Hull Marina

What is your Priority Club status? Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Queen bed with Marina view booked. Received, well...
At checkin we're told that at the end of the month this place will close as a HI for refurbishment and reopen as a voco. Therefore, they have a single refurbed Voco room - we we try it as "valued guests" and let them know our thoughts both big and small. Sure...
Having seen the interior of the old rooms as we passed, this room is an upgrade in quality if nothing else.

How are the rooms?
With the room a potential Voco and the hotel currently HI. ..
The room is obviously brand new and we liked this new interior and design. Though our full feedback to the Duty Manager shown as a spoiler below so only major points now.
The bed is big and comfortable.
Even with the window open it's warm and sticky - there's no air con.
plenty of space inside. Tea/coffee but no robes nor coffee maker as they've no exec room.
comfortable.

How is the exec. lounge?
n/a

What was good and what was bad?
good

Breakfast was good although the breakfast dragon got very aggressive to know precise details of my wife's allergies, despite us saying we know what the risks are and will ask.
room is a better design and quality than the old rooms.
close location to the city centre but pleasant next to the small Marina. But Monaco it is not

bad
No air con in the room. There was a controller but wouldn't turn on. The replacement fan was noisy and all speeds seemed set to Hurricane and made it too cold to sleep under.
The shower drain overflowed when used on the handspray. Overhead shower and the drain could cope.
No mini-fridge nor water, ether bottled nor a water cooler that could be used.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
We paid around £105 including breakfast for 2. Seemed like a fair rate, although not sure if that price will hold when it becomes a Voco in a few months.
