A complaint would be in order. Not sure that you should mention the PAM in that complaint.
Thanks brunos. I will definitely follow your advice and file a complaint, while avoiding to mention the PAM.

Out of curiosity, was the ticket with a VN flight number? AT check-in, did they mention the VN lounge?
At check-In, the VN agent told us that we could either use the Miracle Lounge, and provided us the Lounge Invitation cards along with the boarding passes, but only for the 4 adults. She said that the children would not be allowed because we only have one guest allowance. I remembered then about the AF/KL Plat benefits re. children not counting towards the allowance and asked her whether we can go to the AF Lounge instead. She said that was a better idea since I am a "native" AF FFP member and that I would be treated even better there. If only she had known...

This corroborates Goldorak comment that the AF Lounge IS INDEED one of the two lounges used by VN at BKK.
