Then I looked at Google Maps and realized that it's the Philippines and while Luzon Island may be technically correct that term doesn't appear anywhere in my reservation when viewing it on United.com -- everything refers to it as "CRK" "Clark, PH" or just "Philippines" -- had United's crack marketing team used any of those (or even "Manilla" which I've come to understand is essentially the same metro area as Clark) my first thought wouldn't have been "scam spam"
Edit: Oh joy, another one and yet another name that I've never seen used before to refer to the same destination, guess United is thinking "Why let scammers have all the fun"

This is a good geography lesson for you.
Clark International Airport (CRK), the former Clark Air Base, is at Angeles City, Province of Pampanga, Republic of the Philippines (R.P.). It also covers portions of the city of Mabalacat within the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone. Hence, Angeles / Mabalacat.

Clark is 50 miles northwest of Manila (with one "L"

), so it is
not "essentially the same metro area".
The white triangle at the left side of the Philippine flag contains the sun and three stars, the latter representing the three regions of the R.P.: Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. 🇵🇭
Enjoy your trip. CRK has the only Hilton "Resort" (for purposes of Hilton Aspire AmEx credit purposes) in the Philippines.
