I've only flown CI on their W product but it was on the A359 which is wider than the usual W config at 2-3-2, but the 77W is 8 across if I recall correctly. The soft product was fine, but unremarkable.

Depends how much you value the better product on JX, and whether you have a preference for Skyteam for mileage or status.
Agree with this. Have also only flown CI premium economy on the A350 and it was good but not great. That shell seat is just not comfortable for me. The CI 777s are 2-4-2 and older so will probably be a less "good" experience. $1000 extra for Starlux seems pretty steep given CI premium economy prices over the coming months look to be around the $1500-2000 mark, not sure how much better premium economy could be for that price, but as always the value is different for everyone and Starlux is arguably a better product/experience. I would personally probably keep the $1000 and just go with CI, but then I'd also not know what I'm missing out on with Starlux.
