At the moment at least in Las Vegas the convention business is up helping ease the pain locally of the leisure decline. However when there isn’t an event in town Rio is the underdog even with some of its recent improvements as most will flock to the strip as they have historically if it’s a level playing field.
That is likely when we will see the best rates available during the low occupancy.

While I’m personally not a RIO fan I see its appeal for those status seekers and those looking for a bargain.
It also can be a calmer experience not being on the strip
I won’t stay there but happy to put out of town guests there on rare occasions with a GOH and most are quite pleased.
My guess the industry pain will really ramp up as tariffs eventually trigger inflation
In a number of cities real estate in previous sellers markets are now a buyers market and with the lack of affordability.Rent prices have or may start to tick up.In the end uncertainty typically translates to more cautious spending or lack of it
Here we are in Season and there are some pretty good deals coming in from Int destinations on flight redemptions into the US even in premium cabins as many shun America 🫣🤯 At this time hoping for the best and glad I went gang busters traveling the past 12 months.
Going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.
