Hello, does anyone know why the BA729 from Geneva was cancelled today please? Just got an text as we parked up the rental car at the airport.

Ive not had an overnight cancellation before where I’ve needed a hotel (lucky I guess!). Does anyone know how much BA will pay for a hotel, taxis, dinner etc? I booked the Intercontinental near the airport which is pretty expensive but it’s got a nice pool so I’m happy to chip in a bit myself. It was an Avios booking for my wife and I (I’m gold, she’s silver if that helps). Thanks
