Fair. It saves a bit (despite a positioning flight in J), but I'm mainly doing it for,

a) status miles, and
b) lols

How much did you get Joburg-Sydney for btw? When I looked Durban was much cheaper: £1300 OW, versus at least £1700 from everywhere else (bar the occasional flight from Egypt that was ~£1600).
