I'm joining in here I think mainly because I need a SYW support group. The amount of time I spend trying to crack the code on what they offer, why, and then why they categorize things the way they do, where they slap a statement credit....I think they are winning the mental game even with the credits they are throwing out left and right
. I have had a P1 and P2 of this card since Feb and I am still confused. I keep missing out on GGR because of things I assume will count that don't. I have only gotten progress updates 3 times total so no help there. Even still between the 2 cards since Jan I have gotten a total of 293 in gift cards thru SYW portal and 798 in statement credits (not counting the 450 signup bonus). I just got a second GGR offer for my p1 card a few days ago. Now I have a 100/1000 or 200/2000 plus a 100 on 500 or 150/1000 so thats pretty neat. I find myself checking my emails constantly to see if any surprises are hiding in the SYW folder.
A few DP's:
--purchasing e-gift cards at Best Buy (mix of Disney and Amazon) coded as Merchandise-ELECTRONIC STORES. So, unless I misunderstood and that somehow counts as home improvement also, that probably won't get me my $100 for home improvement.
--Purchasing gift cards through Fred Meyer (Kroger) as a pick up order and activating them at home did not seem to be a good workaround for GGR. It shows up on the statement as "
CS KROGER PICKUP GC 877-850-1977 ME" and the merchant code just shows N/A.
--Wilco Farm Store counts as grocery, so that's handy.
--Doordash for GC works on the coding end of it but on the actual purchase side randomly to not at all. I have purchased one for $200 with no trouble, next time a week later I tried and I get stuck in the 'can't verify' loop. I messed with it for like 90 minutes and got one $50 GC for Starbucks to go through and then it broke again and is still broke.
