Absolutely zero chance that BA will remove fixed IFE from longhaul in the next decade. Very far from all their passengers have access to their own devices - maybe on some routes but definitely not all.

I believe 13901 - this is most likely a temporary measure to offset the fact that some aircraft will be keeping their previous tech a while longer than planned.
