773 F vs. 788 J - Worth the Detour?

I managed to book two tickets for December using my AA miles: NGO–NRT–ORD–BOS with the NRT–ORD leg in F. There’s about a 5-hour layover at ORD and we would arrive in BOS around 10pm.

I also have a backup booking NGO–NRT–BOS in J, which gets us into BOS around 5pm.

I’ve never flown JAL F before. Is it worth the extra connection through ORD just to experience it, especially considering it’s the older F seat? For what it’s worth, I’m OWE so I’ll have access to the F lounge at NRT either way.

Curious to hear what others think. Would you go out of your way for the F experience or stick with the more straightforward routing in J?
