I've travelled with Qatar Airways multiple times and so have members of my family. Because of the situation in the Middle East, in the last couple of years QR flight schedules have frequently been changed.
However, I've noticed such changes because I kept checking my QR app, The same goes for my relatives/friends. I've never received any email or SMS letting me know about the flight schedule change/cancellation. Once, the cancellation happened just two days before my flight and I noticed it on the app the day before departure. I raised this issue with QR but have never received a proper reply.
Initially, I thought the problem could related to my Gmail address but then I noticed the same issue with my relatives/friends. I'm wondering if this is because emails get sent later than the actual notification on the app and therefore a notification doesn't not get sent if the system sees that the passenger has logged into the app. I'm just speculating. All other airlines notify passengers by email or SMS.
Has anyone ever experienced this issue or does anyone know more about this?
