When it comes to booking Star Alliance award tickets going to a sales office can be the better option. Website and CC show phantom or no availability at all. Speaking from experience last year I went to the sales office in Istanbul and managed to book a one way business class ticket on AC (Vancouver to New York via Montreal) all in 15k miles + tax. This option had neither been displayed on the website not offered by the CC agent.
