Just contacted AA RTW to change a segment and include WY (Oman Air) in the itinerary.
Lady was reluctant at first, wasn't aware of WY having joined OW but got it all sorted eventually. So far no change fee applied either.
Separate PNR issued, for the moment WY is allowing 6 letters only.

Generally when you book, pay and have the e-ticket for a OW RTW all the rules and base cost are
locked in. The rules include the routing rules and allowable airlines. The rules at the time you booked apply for all changes.
