Hi stargold , feels like a long time since the bmi forum days! I thought your summary was a good one on my recent stay, over a weekend in late June:
  • I had booked a king room, no twins available a month in advance. The hotel was nice enough (with pre-arrangement) to squeeze in both a rollaway bed and cot, but it was very cramped and not ideal. I could have had a suite upgrade two days into my stay (i.e. Sunday/Monday night), but it didn't seem worth moving, so I declined
  • Nice that there were no extra charges for my two kids - either for breakfast or the rollaway bed
  • Hotel had no record of my prior ~5 stays (admittedly at least 6 years since the last time, perhaps some were with SPG - though not all) since they explicitly said about it being my "first stay"
  • Chose the Aria restaurant upgrade as an Ambassador, they said they'd give me the welcome 1000 points too. It felt noticeably bigger choice than the lounge, enough to be worth more than the points
  • Over four days there was a "weekend" and a "weekday" selection at breakfast, but not hugely different (weekday slightly better?). The Aria breakfast was good by US/European standards, but nothing special for Asia
  • Classic location and very easy to walk around Seoul afterwards.
  • Leaving via limosine bus to the airport was very simple with 2-3 buses an hour. On my arrival I got a car pickup from ICN due to a late arrival (~9.30pm), I probably didn't need to, but it was very smooth and well executed so felt I got good value for money considering the car seats and coordination for my welcome
Would happily return and feel it is a good inner city hotel that is well executed and well located for business and pleasure alike. Lots of alternative Marriott branded hotels within a few hundred metres mind!
