Amtrak has finally released the schedule and started selling tickets for the new "Mardi Gras" train from New Orleans - Mobile, with stops in MS at Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi, and Pascagoula.
Two trains daily, eastbound depart NOL 7:35a and 5:31P. Westbound depart MOE 6:30a and 4:30p. Scheduled at 3 hours 43 minutes end to end.
The press conference boasted fares for the full distance starting at $15, but I can't find any dates less than $24 one way. A couple for bucks cheaper to the Mississippi stations.
Service starts Aug 18 2025.
Apparently it is a 2 hour 5 minute drive from New Orleans to Mobile. Amtrak takes almost twice as long! Even with 5 minute dwell times at the 5 intermediate stations, that only adds a half hour delay compared to a nonstop train?
