Well - we obviously boarded late, then pushed back to get stuck in the taxiing queue and then the flight was rerouted due weather which meant we needed more fuel which meant that the crew would run out of duty time. So back to T5 to be kicked off, given a piece of paper which might as well said ‘good luck!’ And left to our own devices. Getting to the luggage carousel to find my bag had been off loaded early and was never even on the flight!

So head to a Marriot and call Gold Help line to speak to someone who then sorted me out for the following day to wake up today to find that we are now all back on a new BA1298 in the same seat.

my bag is still showing at T3 ORD thanks to my apple tag.

can’t wait for tonight’s fun and games.
The initial reason flight was delayed was because crew were stuck in road work traffic delay. The rest of what you state is fact. However, if flight left on time, with enough fuel to allow for re-routing, the crew would have enough hours to fly back to LHR. If the weather was reason for cancellation, why did they announce they were trying to find replacement crew ? If crew has been found, would they have taken off, answer is yes. So blaming the reason as due to weather is hardly the issue. However, save yourself the trouble of claiming compensation because they are already refusing to pay out. (Let me know if you get anything) Looking at passing to a recovery company to see if they will take it on. Paying them 35-50% is a lot but what is left is better than naff all. BA = Bloody Awful.
