Yes, also worth noting that if you're very close to the threshold for one of the instalments by the end date of the offer, cleared spend becomes important.
For the offer last year I was about £150 away the day before it ended and I couldn't get a straight answer out of Amex as to whether a few payments on the card but not cleared (but which would have taken me over) would actually be counted or not. Ended up doing an emergency wine run to Tesco because 99% of the time they clear same day.
In the end all bar one of the payments 'counted', so worth making sure what's cleared and hasn't if you're not comfortably over.
