Combining 2 tickets to make a direct journey? (
Hi, me & my wife are in London at the moment, and are planning to return to Hong Kong via Dubai.
I have flown CX many times Dubai to Hong Kong, and have at times put together two different tickets, (IE. Dubai to Mumbai on CX & a seperate Mumbai to Hong Kong on CX tickets and flown on the Direct Dubai to Hong Kong flight. Cathay allows this. Once I even combined an Eco & a business ticket, and they allowed me to fly direct, but in Eco only.
My issue is that we have a booking (not yet issued) for the London to Dubai sector on a Business Class (U Class) award flight on British Airways.
We have in already, a booking (not yet issued) for the Dubai to Mumbai sector on a Business Class (U class) award flight on Cathay Pacific.
I am issuing both of the above sectors on one award ticket one way flight (As a one way award ticket LHR to BOM with a stop over in DXB multicarrier award (multicarrier awards are still allowed, but you have to push them to do it as they will say its not allowed anymore but if you speak to someone higher up, they will get it arranged as it is still technically still allowed on asiamiles)) basically the DXB to BOM adds no extra cost of purchasing miles to a LHR to DXB flight.
We have in our possession a revenue business class ticket from Mumbai to Hong Kong (D Class).
My question is this: Does anyone know if CX will allow mixing of an award ticket (U Class) and a revenue ticket (D Class) for a direct flight from DXB to HKG?
A second part to this question is: Will I get any milleage credit for this if it is allowed? As would be flying U class & D class at the same time?
I appreciate any knowledgable replies, Thanks.
